Turismo do Alentejo, ERT, hereinafter referred to as TAERT, an entity based at Praça da República, 12, 1º 7800-427 Beja and the Agência Regional de Promoção Turística do Alentejo (Alentejo Regional Tourism Promotion Agency), hereinafter referred to as ARPTA, based at Rua Manuel Batista Reis, No. 6 - R/C, 7570-284 Grândola, acknowledge the importance of protecting your personal data of any nature and comply with the requirements established by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on 25 May 2018 in all Member States of the European Union. As such, we have developed a set of security measures intended to achieve this aim.
This privacy policy provides clarification for users of the website visitalentejo.pt about our privacy and personal data protection practices and reiterates the authorisations that were granted to us with regard to the collection, use and processing of personal data, at the time of registration on the site as a user.

The TAERT and ARPTA reserve the right to change the presentation and configuration of the website at any time, as well as the terms and conditions of use and the personal data processing policy. Consequently, visitors/users who access the website must always read these terms and conditions at the outset. 3.5 Data Subjects' Rights
Pursuant to and for the purposes of Articles 13 to 22 of the GDPR, the TAERT and ARPTA inform that any data in their possession may be consulted, have limits placed on their processing or be rectified (due to errors, inaccuracy or incompleteness) by the respective data subject. Additionally, in cases where processing is based on consent, the data subject is also entitled to request the deletion of data whose processing does not fit in with one of the legal situations provided for in Article 6, paragraph 1, subparagraphs b) to f) of the GDPR. Furthermore, in cases where processing requires consent, the data subject is entitled to withdraw such consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not compromise the legitimacy of any processing done on the basis of previously-given consent. Data subjects are also entitled to object to any further processing of their personal data, to be informed, on request, about the purposes of the processing, the categories of data involved, the identity of the recipients to whom they have been disclosed and the length of time for which their personal data will be kept. They are further entitled to receive the personal data concerning them and that they have provided, and to send them to another entity for processing ("data portability").
3.6 Subcontractors
The TAERT and ARPTA may use subcontractors for the maintenance, housing and management of their computer systems and equipment, under the terms permitted by the legislation governing the processing of personal data; such entities are obliged to maintain confidentiality and guarantee security in respect of the data to which they have access for this purpose and which belong to users of the visitalentejo.pt website and the platforms managed by the TAERT and ARPTA. They may not use said data for any other purpose or for their own benefit, nor may they associate them with any other data they may have. In any event, responsibility continues to lie with the TAERT and ARPTA in respect of any personal data provided to them.
3.7 Retention of personal data
The period of time during which personal data is stored and retained varies according to the purpose for which the information is processed. The TAERT and ARPTA retain personal data only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was provided or to fulfil any applicable contractual or legal obligations. As such, and whenever there is no specific legal requirement, the data will be kept only for the minimum period necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected or for their further processing, as defined by law.
3.8 Minors
Minors under 16 years of age must obtain permission from their parents or guardians before accessing the website or making personal data available on it. The responsibility for identifying the content and pages accessed by children under the age of 16 lies with their parents or legal guardians.
3.9 Complaints
Without prejudice to being able to submit complaints directly to the TAERT and ARPTA through the contacts provided for the purpose, data subjects can complain directly to the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD), which is the Supervisory Authority in Portugal, using the contacts made available by this entity for the purpose.
4. Privacy
The TAERT and ARPTA fully respect the website users' right to privacy. This is why, in principle, they do not capture or use browsing information associated with the identification of their visitors, limiting the collection of information of a personal nature to that voluntarily provided by visitors/users; furthermore, all such information is used solely for the purposes for which it is intended. In addition to the above, it is important to clarify that, in line with the provisions regarding cookies, the website collects and uses the following information:
a) The user's country of origin, in order to improve the harmony between their goals and interests and the information that is shown;
b) The information specifically indicated by users about contents and other pages, which they can then organise in order to create a plan for their visit, and which are kept between visits (for users with cookies or who have registered on the website). This enables the website to provide a support service for planning a trip to the Alentejo;
c) The information specifically indicated by users about their profile and interests, so that the website can display the contents that are most relevant to visitors;
d) The identification of visitors who register, subscribe to newsletters or request information, regardless of the computer they use, creating a login consisting of an e-mail address and a password.
Any type of interaction with the website will be recorded for the purposes of quality control, including but not limited to information submitted for the purposes of registration, requests for information and competitions. Personal data can be updated and rectified by accessing the Register/Profile area on the website. Users can also submit a request on the website for their account to be deactivated. This will result in the data on their "Profile" and any content added to their "Trip Planner" being deleted and their newsletter subscription being cancelled. Deactivation of the account does not mean, however, that registration data will deleted, but rather that they will not be used by the TAERT and ARPTA. Still, it can be kept namely for archive purposes. Users wishing these data to be deleted too must indicate this requirement.
5. Disclaimer
The TAERT and ARPTA reserve the right to suspend, modify or discontinue the publication of all or part of the website at any time. Visitors/users agree that access to the website and its channels and services may be terminated at any time, with or without advance notice, and that the TAERT and ARPTA shall not be held liable for such an occurrence. The TAERT and ARPTA shall make every effort to ensure that the information and facts shown on the website are the best and most relevant from among those available. However, the TAERT and ARPTA give no guarantee, explicit or implicit, that the information shown on the website and provided, produced or issued by third parties is always up to date and correct. Furthermore, the TAERT and ARPTA decline all liability for the direct and/or indirect consequences that may arise as a result of using the information provided. 6. Participation of partner users in the contents of the website
The website allows and encourages direct participation by users, through the uploading of texts, films and photos (hereinafter referred to as "content"), sharing their experience of the Alentejo, participating in competitions or any other channels and/or functionalities created for the purpose. Users who upload content directly on to the website may not assume the identity of third parties nor falsify their identity. Responsibility for content inserted on the website directly by users lies solely with the authors/creators of said content, and the TAERT and ARPTA decline all liability in respect of same. Without prejudice to the above, the TAERT and ARPTA may monitor content that has been uploaded directly by users of the website and reserve the right to edit, refuse to publish or remove/delete, in whole or in part, any content that:
a) Does not comply with these reference terms;
b) Contravenes any applicable domestic or international law;
c) Targets goals of a commercial or promotional nature or constitutes misleading, illicit or unfair advertising;
d) Is not related to the scope of the website or contains false, ambiguous or misleading information.
By directly uploading content to the website, users authorise the TAERT and ARPTA, free of charge and without any type of limitations or reservations, to freely use the uploaded content, exactly as they were inserted or with any changes that they deem appropriate, either by themselves or through third parties, in the manner they deem best, regardless of the support and means employed. The TAERT and ARPTA do not offer users a guarantee that their content will be published in whole or in part. The TAERT and ARPTA decline all liability in respect of the information provided by such websites and the personal data processing policies and security of same.
9. Changes to the Terms of Use and Personal Data Processing Policy
The TAERT and ARPTA reserve the right to adjust or amend these Terms of Use and Personal Data Processing Policy at any time. Said alterations shall be published using the appropriate means.
